Waxing

Waxing is a hair removal method that removes hair from the root using warm wax, leaving skin smooth and hair-free for up to four to six weeks. Unlike shaving, which only removes hair at the surface, waxing slows regrowth over time and leaves no stubble, making it a popular choice for both short-term results and long-term maintenance.

Treatment areas include the brows, lip, chin, underarms, arms, legs, bikini, and Brazilian, with options available for both face and body. Each service is tailored to your hair type, skin sensitivity, and personal preference for a comfortable and effective result.

The appointment begins with a quick consultation to confirm the area being treated and discuss any skin sensitivities or contraindications. The skin is cleansed and prepped before warm wax is applied in the direction of hair growth, then removed swiftly to lift hair from the root.

Treatment time varies depending on the area, ranging from a few minutes for a brow shape to around 30 to 45 minutes for a full leg or Brazilian service. Some discomfort is normal, particularly on more sensitive areas, though this typically eases after the first application. A soothing lotion is applied at the end to calm the skin and reduce redness.

Hair should be at least 0.5cm long for the wax to grip effectively. If you're coming in after shaving, allow two to three weeks of regrowth before your appointment. Avoid booking immediately before or during your period if you're sensitive to pain, as skin tends to be more reactive at this time.

Exfoliate the area gently two to three days before your appointment to remove dead skin cells and reduce the risk of ingrown hairs. On the day, arrive with clean skin free of oils, lotions, and self-tanner on the treatment area, as these can interfere with wax adhesion. Wearing loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment will help with comfort directly afterward.

For the first 24 to 48 hours after your appointment, avoid heat in all forms, including hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and sunbathing, as the follicles remain open and skin is more vulnerable to irritation and infection. Skip perfumed products, deodorants on underarm areas, and any active skincare ingredients such as retinol or acids on the treated skin.

Some redness and minor sensitivity immediately after is completely normal and usually settles within a few hours. Wear loose clothing where possible to avoid friction, and resist the urge to touch the treated area.

From day three onward, exfoliate the area two to three times a week to keep skin smooth and prevent ingrown hairs. Regular waxing every four to six weeks is recommended to keep hair on the same growth cycle, which over time leads to finer regrowth and more comfortable appointments.
