Ear Piercing

Ear piercing is a precise, professional service that creates a clean opening in the ear for jewellery to sit comfortably and heal correctly. Whether you're after a classic lobe piercing or something more detailed like a helix, tragus, or conch, the placement and technique used matters as much as the aftercare that follows.

All piercings are performed using sterile, single-use equipment and high-quality implant-grade jewellery, chosen to minimise the risk of reaction and support healthy healing from the start.

The appointment begins with a consultation to discuss placement, jewellery options, and any questions you have before anything goes ahead. The area is cleaned and marked so you can confirm the position before the piercing takes place.

The piercing itself is quick, typically over in a matter of seconds. Some brief sharp sensation is normal, followed by mild throbbing that settles within a short time. Depending on how many piercings you're having done, the full appointment generally takes between 15 and 30 minutes. Aftercare instructions are provided before you leave so you know exactly how to care for your new piercing at home.

Eat a proper meal before your appointment to keep your blood sugar stable and reduce the chance of feeling lightheaded during or after the service. Arrive with clean ears and avoid applying any products such as hairspray, oils, or moisturiser around the area on the day.

Wear or bring clothing that won't catch on your ears when removing it, particularly if you're having cartilage work done. If you have a history of keloid scarring or metal sensitivities, let your piercer know during the consultation so the right jewellery can be selected for you.

Clean your piercing twice daily using a sterile saline solution, applying it gently with a clean cotton pad or gauze. Avoid rotating or moving the jewellery, as this disrupts the healing tissue and increases the risk of irritation. Do not touch the piercing with unwashed hands.

For the first two weeks, keep the area away from bodies of water including pools, the ocean, and baths. Avoid sleeping directly on a fresh piercing where possible, and be mindful of haircare products, earphones, and clothing that may catch or press against the site.

Lobe piercings typically take six to eight weeks to heal on the surface, though full internal healing takes closer to three to six months. Cartilage piercings take longer, often six to twelve months for complete healing. Jewellery should not be changed until the piercing is fully healed, and any signs of prolonged redness, swelling, or discharge should be assessed by a professional promptly.
